Back to Reality.

Aloha my lovelies!

Welcome to the all new partially new NotSoPlainJayne! Whilst it's been an embarrassingly long time since my last post I'm finally back. And what better way to celebrate than a bit of a design makeover? I'm planning on a layout change sometime in the near future too so keep an eye out of that. Also here's a completely unrelated photo of flowers. You're welcome.

Since my last post way back in October a lot of stuff has probably changed. The biggest thing being that I have finished my degree. It honestly hasn't sunk in yet. Even typing it feels weird. However now I'm stuck in this weird state of non student/ non adult confusion since my Graduation ceremony isn't until the end of October. The idea of actually having to face being a proper adult is way more scary than I ever thought it would be.

What does this mean for Not So Plain Jayne? Well, hopefully it means that my posts will start to be slightly more regular than 8 months. I've got loads of posts all written up and ready to go. It's just the task of taking the photos that proves rather difficult - aka. I am unorganized. Nothing new there though right?

In summary, I got a cool new header and I am back blogging for the foreseeable future. Yay.

Top tips for sorting your wardrobe

Aloha my lovelies!

So I'm a little bit late with my 'Spring Cleaning' process since it's already almost half way through June. Whoops. However, the entire purpose of Spring cleaning a wardrobe sort out is to decide what you actually wear and to determine whats missing from your collection. Right now I'm just in the midst of purchasing some pieces for my Holiday to Tenerife next month, and with one glace at my currently existing closet I can safely say it's going to become a complete overhaul! Today I'm going to share with you my top tips & tricks for whittling down your wardrobe.

5 Things To Consider Before Buying

Aloha my lovelies!

Now I don't know about you, but I am the worst when it comes to shopping. I can easily spend hours trying on various pieces and come back with bags of clothes, much to my bank accounts disgruntlement, only to then sit in my wardrobe untouched. In the past I've definitely made a few impulse buys and then forgotten about them until they're no longer returnable. Over the years I've begun to become a lot more selective with my purchases. Here's my guide to a few things you should consider before parting with your pennies.

OUTFIT: Nothing feels the way it was before

T-Shirt - Topshop // Trousers - Topshop // Court Shoes - New Look // Coat - ARK

Aloha my lovelies!

As you may have noticed my style has changed quite a bit over the last few weeks. I've been taking some heavy inspiration from bloggers such as Victoria (InTheFrow) and Sammi from BeautyCrush. Nowadays I'm all about creating a minimalistic look with a sophisticated edge and this loose fitting top tucked into these beautiful cigarette trousers ticks all the boxes when it comes to effortless chic. It's such a classic combination that works so well for everyday. These trousers have proved to be a serious nuisance when it comes to trying to photograph them! None the less I still adore the iridescent shine and Japanese inspired pattern. They're so unique and are a great essential part of my Spring wardrobe.

If you're a follower of my Instagram then you will have seen that I posted a photo a while back whilst searching for the perfect pair of nude courts. I found these beauties in New Look after trying on more pairs than I care to admit! I particularly love the cut away inside - it's so flattering on my wide feet, not to mention they're super comfy and help to elongate my short podgy legs. There's something about court shoes that makes me feel so much more put together, probably because they make the clip clop sound when I walk. You can wear them with pretty much anything and they'll instantly give your outfit a whole load of glam, which is always a good thing in my eyes! Of course the look wouldn't be complete without my pink coat. I can't even express how glad I am for spying it in the sale.

What are your spring style staples?
